AeroCam support

Short how-to videos and a few simple steps to get your AeroCam in the air.

Step by step

  1. Assemble the Aeropod

    Put the airframe together.

  2. Mount the camera

Complete kits arrive with the camera configured by BST for kite-based imaging, so no at-home setup is needed. Seat the camera in its mount before flight.

    Insert Camera in Mount
  3. Attach it to the line

Connect the leader, then hang the Aeropod from the kite line.

  4. Fly

Use any stable kite or balloon system that produces steady lift and line tension. See flying basics for site checks, launching and retrieval.

  5. Get your images

Copy the photos and video off the camera after landing.

The camera videos were recorded by the AREN project with a GitUp camera. Your kit's camera may look different, but the mount and workflow are the same idea.

Videos are from NASA's AREN project (AEROKATS and ROVER Education Network) and open on MiStreamnet in a new tab.
